In October 2005, I was bicycling throughout the hilly neighborhoods of Manitou Springs, Colorado, when I came across this colorful array of fall colors in Memorial Park.

It was so bright that I had to stop and pull out my digital camera. Manitou Springs is a scenic town west of Colorado Springs that is surrounded by mountains on three sides. It has many attractive foliage displays in the fall, and that area uniquely has many numerous flowering lilac bushes in the spring - making the town smell wonderful during that season.
