This Morning's Fall Foliage Pictures Near Buena Vista, Colorado (September 29, 2006)
I returned to Cottonwood Pass Road near
the Cottonwood Lake turnoff for more fall
foliage photography. The aspens are definitely bright in shades of yellow and orange!
I walked downhill to Middle Cottonwood Creek
(which starts about twelve miles above at the Continental Divide) and snapped this photo.
Getting back up to the adjacent road was more difficult. I climbed over some logs and branches
and broke a branch that had my body fall onto some logs. A few painful scratches and four band aids later, I'm okay. ;)
I love the simplicity and colorfulness of the "ground foliage" I spotted in the woods.
A patch of aspens teeming in bright orange!
