Early Autumn Foliage Photos
(Leadville, CO, Granite, CO & Buena Vista, CO - September 7-12, 2009)
 |
The autumn foliage season comes early to the highest regions of Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Adjacent is a photo I
snapped outside of Leadville, CO
while on my lunch break on September 10, 2009.
I consider this my first "real autumn photo" of the season and deemed
it worthy enough to show off on my Twitter and Facebook pages.
Right now we are in the early season of autumn foliage viewing. A large number of trees are completely green,
but each day there are more pockets of color flairing up in the wildnerness. |

Today (September 12) I ventured in the forest (west of Buena Vista, CO) to
an aspen grove that was showing some pretty foliage.
Now Colorado does not enjoy the wide array of colors other parts of the country such as Vermont, North Carolina and
Minnesota.
However, Colorado's plentiful aspens and cottonwoods in the mountains tend to "wow" many of us living here. :)

On the morning of September 12, I photographed this hillside with foliage in
Granite, Colorado. |

Another shot in Granite, CO. Plenty of green is lingers, but I thought it was a pretty shot nonetheless.
