Fall Foliage (Photos From Our Drive Around Aspen, Colorado - October 13, 2007)
My friend Elana and I spent a good part of the day driving
around Aspen, Colorado to photograph the remaining fall colors and gaze at the Maroon Bells.
On this page are all of my best autumn pictures from the adventure,
but you can see my entire pictorial here:
Maroon Bells.
The two adjacent photos were taken along Highway 82 between Independence Pass and Aspen.
There are a couple of area with really large aspen groves!
We're definitely past the peak viewing time, but
there are still some aspen groves showing some color.
Elana plays her guitar amidst shimmering yellow aspen leaves in
a town park in Aspen.
This was a common scene throughout Aspen:
Hillsides with reddish, rusty bushes and yellow aspens.
More aspens.
A pretty mountain view with fall foliage in the foreground along Maroon Creek Road.
We stopped a few times along the road and Elana really liked this open area.
The John Denver Look Alike performed very
well in the town square area in Aspen. The fall colors behind him looked great!
