Early Autumn Colors In Colorado's High Country (August 23-24, 2006)
It is late August here in the Colorado high country and
I would say maybe 0.2% of all trees, bushes and plants are showing off their autumn colors.
Here are some photos I took over the past two days in the canyon that leads to Cottonwood Pass,
which is part of the Continental Divide. Keep in mind all of these places are 10,000+ feet in altitude!
Red foliage.
There is a stream running down the canyon that becomes a flat, slow-moving marshy area. These plants are really showing off some yellow!
It is exciting to see even just a small number of leaves changing already! :)
